As a small child I was already fascinated by, among other things, the children's program De Verrekijker, which often showed films that gave a behind-the-scenes look at how an article was created in mass production. The combination of man and machine has greatly changed the world. This is also the case here at DAF.
We see cars in large numbers around us and have become an important part of the world. This has led to Kunstwerk De Burgh, which is an ode to the Daffodil, the only car with a smart poker and ever........ made in Eindhoven Holland!
People like to show something they are proud of. Preferably imposing. Daf employees are also proud of what they make in their factory on the Geldropseweg. As a tribute to DAF, I have chosen to fit cars into the streetscape in a beautiful way.
The Kunstwerk De Burgh consists of two curved shapes that represent the two bridges over the Jan van Eyckgracht with what it once started with, namely two stylized DAFs. The two colors refer to the two colors that make up a Daffodil (English for daffodil).

The artwork will be realized in the summer of 2024.
